Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar inaugurated a replica of INS Vikrant, installed at Museum Junction in Thiruvananthapuram to showcase India’s naval power and defense capabilities to the public. The ceremony took place on October 12, 2026.
A scale model of the actual ship, built at a 1:24 ratio under the aegis of the Indian Navy, has been installed here. The project aims to raise public awareness regarding the nation's naval power, the critical role played by the Indian Navy in maritime security, and India's defense capabilities. This model of the INS Vikrant—a source of national pride—will offer visitors to the city an opportunity to gain a closer understanding of the strength of the Indian Navy.
